The Four Corners monument on the west side of Colorado is a highly commercialized point of interest that attracts thousands every year. All yearning for the opportunity to have their photo taken in Colorado, Utah, Arizona, and New Mexico at the same time.

The problem is that the monument is believed to be off by a few hundred feet. Colorado has three other corners, with their own geographic claims to fame. The point where Colorado, Oklahoma, and Kansas come together in the eastern corner of the state is the meeting point for three distinct regions of America: the Western United States (represented by Colorado), the Midwest (represented by Kansas), and the American South (represented by Oklahoma).

In an area where prairie dogs, coyotes, hawks, and pronghorns outnumber people, this remote marker is located within four inches of the correct geographical location. A large metal disc has been set into the road to mark the location.

Granted, you have to stand in the middle of a road, but you can actually stand in all three states at once.

Know Before You Go
