About

The Upper Room Chapel was built as part of the Heritage USA complex. It was constructed as an identical replica to the real Upper Room in Jerusalem; which is believed to be the first Christian church and site of the Last Supper.

In wake of the numerous scandals rocking Heritage USA, the theme park was closed permanently in 1989. The Upper Room Chapel sat idle. It was on the verge of being demolished until January 2009. That's when the "Friends of the Upper Room" stepped in and successfully petitioned to have it sold. Christian concert promoter James Russell purchased the property in 2010 and re-opened the church in 2011.
