About

According to the Antique Comb Collectors Club International, the Miller Comb Museum houses more than 3,000 artifacts. Featured in the Anchorage Daily News, the Miller family museum is located in Homer, Alaska.

Born just seven days apart in 1933, Betty and Ralph Miller fell in love at the age of 15 and married just a few years later in 1951. Betty went off to beauty school and her fascination with combs began there. They arrived in Anchorage with just $18 in 1956 and lived for a couple of years inside of a trailer while Ralph worked construction. When things started to improve, Betty began collecting antique hair pieces at flea markets beginning what would become the largest collection of ornamental hair combs on the planet.
