An unusual place, the AP Yanling Plaza Market at first glance looks like any other vendor market found across the world. Located underground, you’ll come to realize that this market is very, very different. AP Yanling is one of the few remaining markets left in Shanghai dedicated to selling “fake” goods.

Filled with hundreds of shops, you can find just about anything your heart desires. Purses, shoes, electronics, and anything else you can think of, this place has it. While the market may not be completely legal, it continues to operate and draws in tons of visitors daily.  It’s always busy with folks looking for a bargain, and vendors looking to make a deal so prepare for some intense haggling. Keep in mind, these shop keepers are absolute pros at haggling.  All in all, this is a great place to come to if you like to shop, like to bargain, and love new and unusual experiences off the beaten track!

Know Before You Go

Best way to get here is the Shanghai Metro. Take Line 2 and get off at the Shanghai Science & Technology Museum stop. Exit the station gates and you are there.
