Travis Walton's Phone Booth
Heber-Overgaard, Arizona
In 1975, a forestry worker in Arizona claimed to have been abducted by a UFO.

This phone booth is from where Travis Walton called for help and was rescued after his alleged alien abduction experience on November 5, 1975. Walton wrote about his experience in a 1978 book titled Fire in the Sky, which was later made into a movie.
“I never liked it or the attention, but along with the burden comes a certain amount of responsibility,” Walter would later tell journalists. “Lots of people are afraid to speak about what happened to them. This helps them to be vindicated.”
Because of the incident, this phone booth has become a local tourist attraction. A wooden carving of an alien and a UFO-themed mural commemorate that has become one of the most widely publicized accounts of alien abduction in American history.
