About

Located just west of downtown Columbus, Ohio near the banks of the Scioto River, The Slingshot is a kinetic sculpture that shows the playful side of the local community. Commissioned by a local developer and created by Andrew Lundberg, a resident in Franklinton, and stands 20 foot tall and 12 foot wide.

The artist stated that he wanted the piece to serve as “a visual reminder of our momentum as a community while maintaining the mischievous nature of the artists that make us who we are.” The intriguing thing about this sculpture is that viewers can interact with it by acting as the ball that will be shot over the river to downtown Columbus.
