Strombergbahn is an open-air installation of a weather-proofed, model railway located in the garden of a privately-owned house in Sachsenheim. Construction on the miniature railway system began in 1975, and contains 16 locomotives to go along with more than 1000 feet of rails (400 meters). One of the most remarkable features of this model railway is a long bridge that stretches for 29 feet (9 meters). It’s comprised of hand-chiseled stones and a scale model of the Maria Laach monastery. There is also a workable model aerial tramway and models of amusement rides around the installation.

The owner of Strombergbahn offers guided tours for tourists. Visitors can send the trains into operation at any time with 1 Euro coin.
