From a small town in Kansas, to filming a safari adventure for the American Museum of Natural History, the Martin and Osa Johnson Safari Museum explores the fascinating story of the Johnsons career.
Martin and Osa spent their lives traveling the world, providing photos and footage from faraway places to audiences with a thirst for understanding a world so different from their own.
At the museum, visitors can look at artifacts the Johnsons acquired during their numerous adventures. African masks, Osa’s zebra hide shoes, and even the cameras the couple used on their journeys are on display.
Know Before You Go
You can also visit the Johnson’s gravesite in Chanute. The home Osa grew up in is still standing, but is privately owned.
