About

Charles M. Schulz, creator of the comic strip Peanuts, was born in Minneapolis and spent his childhood in Saint Paul.At its height, Peanuts was published daily in 2,600 papers throughout 75 countries, and translated into more than 20 languages. Over the almost 50 years that Peanuts was published, Schulz drew nearly 18,000 strips.

After Schulz died in 2000, colorful fiberglass figures featuring his beloved characters were installed around the Twin Cities. Amazing as these are the best commemoration of Schultz is possibly the collection of fine bronze figures to be found in and near Landmark  Plaza in downtown Saint Paul. Included at Landmark Plaza are Charlie Brown and Snoopy, Sally Brown, Linus van Pelt (along with his blanket), and Schroeder (at the piano) alongside  (almost inevitably) Lucy van Pelt.

Marcie Johnson, along with Woodstock and Peppermint Patty can be found on the east side of Rice Park just opposite.

These bronzes were part funded by auctioning off many of the fibreglass Snoopy figures produced for the 2000 Peanuts on Parade tribute. If you love Peanuts, you will love these fantastic collections of artwork created by Tivoli Too in 2003.
