About

Winding through Indiana’s Grant County, the Garfield Trail features 14 statues of America’s favorite lasagna-loving cat, Garfield. The five-foot-tall statues are scattered across Marion, Indiana—birthplace of Garfield comic creator Jim David—and the surrounding towns.

Most of the Garfield statues are located outside of buildings or in parks, and made of fiberglass, but there is one inside a public library, and one inside the local golf club is made of wood.

Each statue has a theme relating to its location or the area’s own history. At the beginning of the trail, visitors can get a free brochure that details each location and the special costume worn by each Garfield. For example, there is a James-Dean-themed cat to celebrate Fairmount, Indiana, which is the birthplace of the beloved film star.
