About

Manolo Paz's work on the shores of A Coruña, Spain, is both thought-provoking and beautiful. Called the Family of Menhirs, or Menhirs for Peace, Paz's gathering of 10 upright stones look over the Atlantic Ocean in meditative hope.

Carved with strategic holes to let visitors look through for themselves and interpret their own meaning, the stones offer everyone the chance to reflect on family and future, as Paz attempted to evoke feelings of parents standing with their children.

Through some of the stones, the famous Tower of Hercules is visible, while others just give a view of the vast ocean. Whatever the view, the ocean-side sculpture park is crowd-pleasing in its size alone, if not its meaning, and many flock to the relaxing spot either way.
