The John Michael Kohler Arts Center The John Michael Kohler Arts Center (The John Michael Kohler Arts Center)
The John Michael Kohler Arts Center is an art museum dedicated to the offbeat, particularly with self-taught builders of artist-environments.
Established in 1967, The Kohler Arts Center has long concentrated on vernacular, or “outsider,” artists who are self-taught. They work closely with the Kohler Foundation to preserve many of the artist-built environments “in situ” when possible, while others which must be moved from their locales are often exhibited in the gallery space.
