About

Faces Bridge is on Wilson Avenue in Loveland, Colorado, where the road passes over the Thompson River. There's parking for the trail that leads under the bridge on the right of Wilson Avenue just before the bridge, coming from the intersection of Wilson and First Street.

From the surface, the bridge looks like any other in Loveland but on the hiking trail that passes beneath the bridge, there's a collection of bronze faces hanging on the wall. The faces are all sorts of shapes and sizes. There's even an alien. The sculptures were created by Randy Hand, commissioned by the Visual Arts Commission, and dedicated in December 1999.

There used to be a sign on the trail stating this, but unfortunately, it was removed when the road was redone. The faces themselves are still under the bridge and survived the flood in Loveland in 2013.

Know Before You Go

The trail is part of the Loveland Recreational Trail that goes around Loveland and the Thompson River. On one side of Faces Bridge there's a wooden footbridge that goes over the river. On the other side of the bridge is a sidewalk that goes up the side of Wilson Avenue toward where Wilson meets 8th Street. The trail is open from 6:00AM to 10:30PM every day, unless there's a heavy rain, then the trail might be closed due to the river being too high.
