About

This Vienna museum was created to keep the history of computers and video games alive. It features a huge collection of gadgets, software, and memorabilia from different decades. The displays show the journey of computing, starting with early machines like the Commodore 64 and Atari 2600 to newer systems like the PlayStation and Xbox. And these classic machines aren't just for looking—you can also play games on them.

The museum has a wide collection of early European and Japanese computing history, showcasing devices that were once innovative but are now rarely seen. One of the museum's main draws is its focus on retro gaming. It is home to a wide selection of vintage arcade machines and classic games, allowing visitors to relive the exciting days of gaming. Games like Street Fighter, Space Invaders, and Pokémon are available for play, giving younger visitors a chance to see the predecessors of modern video games, while older visitors can enjoy a trip down memory lane.

Beyond the hardware, the museum also explores how gaming and computing have shaped culture and society. Its exhibits dive into the ways that video games have influenced art, culture, and social interactions. It shows how gaming has evolved from a small hobby to a big global industry, highlighting changes in technology, design, and storytelling over the years.
