About

Beluthahatchee Park was the home of Stetson Kennedy, the renounced writer who once worked with Zora Neal Hurston on the  Works Progress Administration's Florida Writers' Project and was good friends with the folk singer Woody Guthrie.

Kennedy let Woody Guthrie stay on the property and Guthrie finished his autobiography, Seeds of Man, and wrote 80 songs during his stay. Kennedy wrote eight books, many of them at Beluthahatchee Park, including two books exposing the KKK.
