About

The Newport Artillery Company Museum is a fascinating piece of history. Hidden in a small street off Eisenhower Park, it boasts of being one of the oldest continually operating military companies in the United States.

Operated by passionate and highly knowledgeable members of the artillery company who volunteer their time to give tours, it contains a ton of curios and artifacts from the revolutionary era to modern times, all packed in a rather small room, and entirely free to visit (donations encouraged).

Some of the highlights include four bronze cannons cast by Paul Revere, Prince Phillip's uniform, Egyptian President Anwar Sadat's last remaining uniform, and an Appeal to Heaven flag.

Easily walkable from the most popular spots in Newport, this should be a must-visit for anyone with even a passing interest in military history.
