Angler's Lodge and Casting Pools
Perfect your fly fishing technique on their practice ponds.
Annetta Black/Atlas Obscura
Established in June 1933 as part of the San Francisco Fly Casting Club to create a dedicated place for local anglers to perfect their cast.
Thee knee deep casting pools hold targets for practice, and the rustic lodge building provides shelter and snacks. Today the club boasts more than 500 members and still holds lessons and tournaments.
Inside the club is an extensive collection of hard tied-flies in cases. You may never have thought of fishhooks as artwork, but this place will change your mind.
