About

In 1965, the construction of this colossal Uncle Sam statue took place, specifically for an Ohio restaurant bearing the same name. Following the restaurant’s closure in 1971, the statue was relocated to the Danbury State Fairgrounds, where it remained until 1981. Subsequently, it was moved to the Magic Forest Park in Lake George, New York, where it stood tall for 37 years.

When Magic Forest closed its doors in late 2018, the plan was for the statue to stand out by the interstate, but ultimately it was relocated to the parking lot of the Danbury Railway Museum, where it has stood tall since 2019.
