The largest ship horn in the world. Set up for the 750th anniversary of the municipality of Flüelen in 2015. The sound has a frequency of 60 to 70 Hertz. The maximum volume is 140 decibels. On the open sea, it is audible at a distance of 10 kilometers.
Because of its location on Lake Lucerne, Flüelen has served as an important point within Switzerland’s transport system for centuries. The horn is located near the docks.
