About

The legend of Tre Sorelle is a captivating folk tale that originates from the Bay of Kotor region in Montenegro. It tells the story of three sisters who all fall in love with the same sailor, with their love unrequited. This legendary tale has been passed down through generations around the bay for centuries and has its roots in Prčanj, a town near Kotor.

The legend of the three sisters lives on in the Tre Sorelle Palace, a medieval building constructed in the 15th century. It's believed to have once been the summer home of the noble Buca family of merchants from Kotor.

The palace, with its three identical Gothic windows, has been the subject of study and fascination for many contemporary authors, who explored both the legend and the architectural significance of the building.

As a supplement to the building, one notable work influenced by this legend is the play of the same name written by Stevan Koprivica and directed by the renowned Milan Karadžic. The legend of Tre Sorelle holds a special place as one of the many legends of Montenegro, recognized and protected for its cultural significance.

Unfortunately, the building is in a very bad state due to a lack of maintanence. It can be viewed externally, at the very least.
