About

The North Creek Mosaic Project is the largest piece of public art in the Adirondacks. It was conceived by local artist, Kate Hartley over 12 years ago. Work went on for years and was finally completed in 2020 and consisted of well over 2000 volunteers.

The mosaic is comprised of four, 60 foot long by 10 foot high panels of tile and glass depicting an ideal early spring day in North Creek. The mural showcases people enjoying outdoor activities such as skiing, hiking, rafting, and kayaking. Also depicted are native animals, birds, trees, flowers, fish, and insects. There's even a field guide.

The work of art is located along Main Street in North Creek, just across from Cafe Sarah, where visitors can sit and enjoy a beverage and take in the mosaic.
