One of seven locations of the Døvekirken (Church for the Deaf) in Norway, which serve more than 5,000 people across the country. Built in 1918, this church was originally designed by Gustav Helland.

The Church for the Deaf offers services entirely in Norwegian Sign Language. The Deaf congregation has met in different locations on Storhaug since the start of the 20th century, and moved into this building in 1997.
