Help improve Atlas Obscura by expanding Souq Waqif with additional information or photos.
The Souq Waqif sells everything from customary clothing and spices, to jewelry and traditional foods. The historic market is also home to several restaurants and has been operating for more than 100 years. The market began as a major trading post for various goods, particularly livestock, evolving over time to include a vast array of items for curious travelers.
Although a century old, the market has been updated over the years to include more space for vendors and two underground parking lots for visitors. It’s a fun, vibrant market where bartering is part of the experience.
Know Before You Go
