About

In the small village of Pačir is a natural phenomenon that appears to be plucked directly from a fantastic dreamscape. The village is home to a geothermal spa that takes on a unique hue. The spa is better known as the Pink Lake.

The lake is small, only about 2,000 square meters, virtually the size of two Olympic-style swimming pools. However, people travel from across the country to experience the healing properties of the lake, which is filled with minerals such as sodium, iodine, sulfates, and bromine to name a few.

The temperature of the water is around 86 degrees Fahrenheit (30 degrees Celsius), although the spring water is actually 161 degrees Fahrenheit (72 degrees Celsius), it's cooled down for safety. Because of the high temperature, visitors are suggested to only spend around 20-30 minutes in the water.

It's still somewhat a mystery as to how the lake garnered its unique pink color, but it's assumed that the various minerals, temperature, and sunlight combine to create this natural wonder.

The lake has become a popular destination during summers in the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina.
