Pavia is located on the banks of the Ticino river. On the other side of the covered bridge linking the city to its suburban counterpart, you’ll find the statue of the washerwoman.
The area was traditionally inhabited by washerwomen, gravel quarrymen, and fishermen. Located on the south side of the river, it’s also a great vantage point to view the nearby covered bridge and city.
Know Before You Go
Can be viewed from the south side of the river and from the nearby covered bridge.
