The McHenry Museum is one of the few early 20th-century buildings still standing in the heart of downtown Modesto, California.

Originally constructed as a public library in 1912, the building remained as such until it was abandoned and later utilized as an art center during the 1970s. Around 2003, after the Central California Art League relocated their exhibits, the building was again transformed, this time into a museum. The main floor was developed into the museum, while four rooms in the basement still played host to works displayed by the Art League.

The building’s beautiful architecture and interesting displays make it a great place to take photos.
