About

Just outside the grounds of Vancouver International Airport (YVR), sits a prime location for plane spotting. The Larry Berg Flight Path Park opened in 2013 and is directly in line with the airport's south runway. Located around the park are plenty of spots to picnic, indulge in some aviation trivia, or just gaze at the planes above.

While visiting, be sure to stroll along the many walking paths marked to look like miniature runways. There is also a giant globe at the center, which you are encouraged to climb. Information panels around the globe explain how to identify some of the planes that pass overhead. The park is named after Larry Berg, retired YVR president and CEO.

Know Before You Go

Check flight radars or schedules, so you know which way planes are landing or taking off before you head out. For the best viewing, look for planes taking off eastward or landing westward.
