Located in the Village Park of the Village of Jemez Springs, New Mexico, across the street from the Municipal Offices, Bath House, and Library, is an unusual sundial. Unlike most sundials, this one operates only with human participation and/or assistance.
By standing on the appropriate month stone laid in the ground, a person serves as the pointer (a.k.a. the style or the gnomon) to cast their shadow across the dial and determine the appropriate time of day.
Know Before You Go
Located just west of State Route 4. Off-street parking is available near the sundial.
