About

Imagine this place many years jefret (that's a word from the parallel world of Kcymaerxthaere that means "sideways in time") and it was a lush meadow that held a great beauty.

Kcymaerxthaere is an art project created by Eames Demetrios. A series of plaques and other markers around the world honor events that have taken place in a parallel universe that, according to Demetrios, "co-exists to some degree with ours.” Most of these installations are bronze or stone plaques inscribed with stories but some are larger, even entire buildings. As of 2021, there are more than 140 sites spread across six continents and 30 countries.

The story here reminds us of both the power of the Umbrasphaere to absorb light, but also of the way the many dimensions of the xthaere allows a different kind of proximity than many are used to. The extraordinary nebula, Bepela, would normally have been staggeringly bright for all passers-by, but the Umbrasphaere, which is the connection between all the shadows on the planet, and where the darkest part of one shadow is related to the darkest part of the next. And, of course, it was so wonderful that something far bigger than the Earth could be concealed in a grassy field on its surface.

In our world, do call ahead for directions to be sure they are open. You will want to park in their parking lot in front of the striking building that is the home of the Novalis Ubuntu Institute.
