About
In 2010 and 2011, earthquakes wreaked havoc on communities in Christchurch, New Zealand, taking lives and destroying infrastructure.
Among the wreckage was residents' now shattered fine china. A group of volunteers found, gathered, and repurposed the broken fragments, making a mosaic from the shattered pieces left behind by families. A floral mosaic armchair and ottoman, affectionately named "Flora" and "Otto," now sit among a field of daffodils beside the botanic gardens in Hagley Park.
