Also known as the “little-lockup,” this tiny jail was constructed around 1892 at an apparent cost of $425.20. Measuring only 4.5 x 6 meters, it’s the smallest jail in Ontario and may be the smallest in North America. Inside houses only three tiny cells.

The jail is free to visit and go inside. The cells display the jail’s small but mighty history in the town of Creemore. It was utilized as such until 1940, before closing and reopening as a tourist attraction in 1972.

Know Before You Go

Bring a friend to take some photos behind the bars of the jail. Be sure to visit downtown Creemore for some local grub, craft beer, and shopping.
