Arguably one of the most recognizable television figures of the 1980s and ’90s, Bob Ross taught generations of Americans how to paint rolling hills and fluffy clouds on his show “The Joy of Painting.”
Known for his perpetually permed ‘fro and rather soothing voice, the Air Force veteran used what he called his wet-on-wet technique for seamlessly blending colors on the canvas. Since the artist passed away on July 4, 1995, at the age of 52, countless fans have come to lay flowers, watercolor paints, and brushes at his grave.
