About

Nestled in the shadows of the Yorkshire Wolds is an ancient route frequented by Romans, and before them, Celtic tribes. Today, the route is traveled by modern tourists and commuters. But though many pass through this historic landscape, few seem to stop at Bar Farm Antiques.

This quirky vintage shop is a trove of antique treasures. It's an eclectic space full of color and character, and you’re guaranteed to find at least one thing that catches your eye within its warehouse and converted chicken sheds.

Wander into the yard, and you’ll see a parking area with a couple of old red telephone boxes and bicycles leaning on unhinged doors and wrought iron salvage. Continue toward the barn, and you’ll spot an old Albion truck built in 1962 that has been converted into a quirky but comfortable tea room fitted out with characterful features and vintage finds.

Enter its main buildings, and you’ll find an assortment of oddities, most of which are for sale. There are cabinets of curios, local historical items, and a huge collection of vintage records next to numerous old radios, defunct TV sets, and record players. The walls are adorned with railway signs, enamel street jewelry, pub signs, and there are heaps of other quirky items like piles of old bottles and containers full of vintage clothing and jewels, old tools, and even old motorcycles.

Be sure to check out the space around the buildings, too, as there are intriguing items scattered all around. You’ll soon notice objects like decaying vehicles, old agricultural items, and even boats that look like they’ve been washed up and grounded by some great flood.

Update as of December 2019; Bar Farm Antiques will be closed throughout December and January 2020, with plans to reopen February 1, 2020.
