About

Located deep in the original American Sector, the Allied Museum is devoted to the role of the Western Powers in Berlin following World War II.

The museum contains a number of unique and authentic artifacts, including a sugar sculpture of the Berlin Airlift Memorial. The sculpture took George M. Bittner over 100 hours to make in 1985. He was the chef to United States commanders in Berlin. There is also another exhibit displaying the commandant's residence comprised entirely of American sugar cubes. This one took Bittner well over 400 hours to create.

There are several other artifacts inside the museum that make the visit worthwhile such as the wooden frontage of the first Checkpoint Charlie hut, a British Hastings plane used during the Berlin Airlift, a section of the Berlin Wall, and a seven-meter section of spy tunnel.
