Experience Croatia’s breathtaking nature, historical gems, and abandoned sites on this privately guided, week-long exploration. With a thoughtful balance of lesser-known haunts paired with iconic spots, as well as a bit of urban exploration sprinkled throughout, you’ll be invited to learn more about the long and complex heritage of this Balkan nation from a variety of perspectives. From towering, seaside fortresses to underground bunkers and countryside memorials, there is so much to take in. But don’t worry—we’ve made sure to also include plenty of time to relax, wander, and dig into local desserts along the way.
The cost of this trip is $3,660 per person, based on two or more travelers, and double occupancy at three- and four-star hotels during low season. For a single occupancy room, there will be a single supplement (price may vary depending on the season). This trip can also be offered to solo travelers as well as groups that include kids under the age of 18—please inquire for pricing and details.
This trip includes seven nights of accommodation, based on double-accommodation in hotels at a three and four-star level. If you're interested in a different level or style of accommodation, we'd be happy to discuss options and price points.
During these days, you’ll be covering about 800 miles (1,300 km). The driving time has been carefully distributed between each day, and will of course include stops along the way. by days and of course with stops along the way. You’ll have a private vehicle and driver for the duration of the trip. The type of vehicle (car, van, or minibus) will depend on the size of your group.
Travelers should feel comfortable walking two to three miles over the course of each day, and remaining on their feet for longer periods of time. While we can tailor the pace and activity level to your group, a few of the highlights require a short, easy hike and/or walking on dirty trails. As the itinerary covers a range of different locations, you’ll want to pack sturdy walking shoes, and comfortable clothes for the drives.
This trip begins and ends in Zagreb, Croatia. On the first day, your guide and driver will arrange to meet you at an agreed-upon location. We recommend you arrive by late afternoon on Day 1, and depart anytime on Day 8. If you’d like to extend your stay on either end, we’re happy to arrange extra nights and provide suggestions for things to do and see on your own.
