For more than a century, artists and creators have looked to Brooklyn as a place where their wildest dreams can take shape. From cutting-edge art, to innovative performances, to artisanal food and drink, we’ll explore the borough where no idea is too crazy and no dream is too big. On this uniquely curated trip, we’ll visit artist studios, learn Chinese knife skills before a feast at the Museum of Food and Drink, explore the iconic House of Yes, and fall through Alice’s looking glass with an immersive theatrical performance.

Arrival & Departure

Our trip begins with welcome cocktails at 6 p.m. on Thursday, August 29. We recommend you arrive in Brooklyn on the afternoon of August 29, so you can settle into The Hoxton and meet us at Summerly on the roof for a welcome cocktail. Our trip concludes in the Morning on Sunday, September 1. If leaving Brooklyn following our tour, we recommend departing in the afternoon of Sunday, September 1. 

Activity Level

This tour is moderately active. Travelers should be reasonably fit and feel comfortable walking three to five miles over the course of each day.

Accommodation

We'll be staying at The Hoxton, Williamsburg in Brooklyn. The Hoxton is a series of open-house hotels inspired by the diversity and originality of the streets and scenes that surround us. 

All guests will have single accommodations at The Hoxton and guests who would like to share a room with a partner or travel companion can do so upon request. Please email trips@atlasobscura.com for more information.

The total cost of this trip is $1,340. A $500 deposit is required to hold your space. The deposit is non-refundable after three days. The final payment of $840 will be due by July 15, 2019. All reservations will be final after this date and subject to our cancellation policy. By submitting your deposit, you agree to the trip's Terms & Conditions

  • Three nights of lodging The Hoxton, Williamsburg in Brooklyn for the duration of the tour.
  • One breakfast, two lunches, and a welcome dinner.
  • Admission to all proposed activities and events.
  • Transportation via public transit and private cabs for the duration of the trip.
  • An experienced local guide to accompany you throughout the trip, as well as special guests throughout.
  • A full briefing packet for each explorer, including logistical and contact information, recommended reading, and packing list.
  • A great group of fellow Atlas Obscura fans, excited to explore all that Brooklyn has to offer!

  • Flights and other transport to and from Brooklyn, New York.
  • Airport transfers.
  • Travel insurance (recommended).
  • Additional food and drink outside of Atlas Obscura offerings, including most alcoholic beverages.
  • Applying for a U.S. visa, if applicable.
