Housed in the Museum of Student Life in AF-Borgen at the prestigious Lund University in Sweden, Nasoteket (The Nose Academy) is a collection of more than 200 plaster casts of noses belonging to distinguished (and a few not-so-distinguished) Scandinavians with ties to the university.

Included in the collection is a cast of astronomer Tyco Brahe’s legendary silver nose as well as hooter casts from Sweden’s first astronaut, Christer Fuglesang, and its first female archbishop, Antje Jackelén, plus an “Unknown Nose,” which is a monument to the nose of the common man, for all those who did not qualify for nasal immortality.

Nasoteket was opened in 1987 and is managed by the Nasal Committee, which in a serious as well as humorous way also reviews academic works published in relation to the human nose.
