You will step back in time to explore a rare and unique miniature of 1930's Hollywood Boulevard, with the expert team at Hollywood Heritage Foundation. This miniature is one of five created by cabinetmaker Joe Pellkofer to celebrate Los Angeles County. The miniature is rarely open to the public.
After an in-depth talk about the nuances of the miniature, we will all pour a cup of tea and learn about the history of the preservation space itself, which resides on the renowned site of the Delongpre Gardens, which at one time stood at the busy intersection of Hollywood and Cahuenga. The Delongpre estate was home to a several acre botanic garden and art gallery, where city dwellers could visit to get a dose of peace and quiet. The Foundation team will share how it came to be, and how it transformed into a center of the film industry.
This experience takes place at the Hollywood Heritage Preservation Resource Center, which is not generally open to the public. It is led by the Hollywood Heritage Foundation’s team, which comprises experts in the area’s history and lore.
