Imagine that you are a fish. Specifically, imagine that you are a rainbow trout. You have, up until today, spent your whole trout life peacefully in the confines of a nice box alongside your trout friends. All you know are the four walls of this box. Then suddenly, your tranquil existence is entirely uprooted, and you are placed in another, strange, moving box. This is traumatizing to say the least.

Just as you begin to get used to your new moving box situation, the unthinkable happens. One of the walls of the box gives out, and before you know it, you’re careening down a trout water slide. This is the most fun you have had in your life. This is the most exciting thing that has ever happened to you. You’re exhilarated. And then, all of a sudden, it is over, and you are out in a lake, roaming free for the rest of your happy trout days.

The above video shows a lake being stocked with 4,000 pounds of rainbow trout via truck delivery. Skip to 0:40 to witness the first trout on their happy journey into the water, to 1:22 to see an incredible amount of fish torpedo down the slide, and to 2:41 to see the last barrage make their way to lake freedom. If you look closely at 1:28, you’ll be able to find the unfortunate trout that doesn’t make it into the lake, and flops around in anguish on the pavement until he is guided into the water by a helping hand.
