Photo of the Week: Luxury Ruination

In the Photo of the Week feature, we highlight an exceptionally amazing photograph submitted by an Atlas Obscura user.

This week we have a photo from one of our very own staffers, the creator of Atlas Obscura’s Curious Facts, Michelle Enemark!

Michelle braved the haunting remains of the formerly lavish Overlook Mountain House in the Catskills to bring us this image of some impressively daunting modern ruins. In her own words:

“After a climbing for about an hour up Overlook Mountain in Woodstock, New York, the eerie remains of a Victorian hotel looms out of the woods very suddenly. Nature is starting to take over as trees rise out of the old foundation.”
