With its breathtaking façade, sweeping grand lobby, and vast contemporary and historical collections, Central Library is a Brooklyn icon and Art Deco masterpiece that receives over 1.3 million visits every year.
In addition to covering Central Library’s public spaces and services and discussing its unique history and architecture, this tour will give visitors behind-the-scenes access to Central Library’s special collections and underground stacks, which contain miles and miles of books.
- Meet at the Welcome Desk on the first floor.
- The 1.5-hour tours will begin at 10:30am, 1:00 pm, 2:00pm and 3:00pm.
- This tour involves climbing and descending stairs.
- RSVP is required as space is extremely limited.
